| dc.description | This work aims to identify some initial beliefs that sixth-grade students hold regarding the concept of probability and assess the impact of using the digital tool GeoGebra on students' belief systems. The qualitative study was conducted within the design-based research paradigm, employing a teaching experiment as the methodological strategy. Participants in the study were sixth-grade students from a public educational institution in the city of Cali, Colombia. The results reveal that students hold diverse beliefs about probability, varying based on their level of reasoning. Moreover, the use of multiple representations provided by GeoGebra simulations served as the means through which students progressed from sometimes erroneous beliefs about probability to mathematical argumentation. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo tiene como propósito reconocer algunas creencias iniciales que tienen los estudiantes de sexto grado sobre el concepto de probabilidad y evaluar el impacto del uso de la herramienta digital GeoGebra en los sistemas de creencias de los estudiantes. El estudio cualitativo se desarrolló dentro del paradigma de la investigación basada en diseño, utilizando como estrategia metodológica un experimento de enseñanza. Los participantes del estudio pertenecen a una institución educativa pública, situada en la ciudad de Santiago de Cali, Colombia. Los resultados indican que los estudiantes poseen diversas creencias acerca de la probabilidad, las cuales varían en función del nivel de razonamiento en el que se encuentren. Por otra parte, el empleo de múltiples representaciones ofrecidas por las simulaciones de GeoGebra, se convirtió en el medio que posibilitó que los estudiantes avanzaran desde creencias a veces erróneas sobre probabilidad hacia argumentaciones de naturaleza matemática. La comprensión de la probabilidad es clave para el desarrollo del pensamiento matemático; sin embargo, los estudiantes a menudo enfrentan dificultades debido a creencias erróneas. Este estudio investiga cómo el uso de GeoGebra puede ayudar a los estudiantes de sexto grado a superar estas limitaciones y mejorar su comprensión de la probabilidad y, de esta manera, promover argumentos matemáticos más sólidos. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Este estudo tem como objetivo reconhecer algumas crenças iniciais que os estudantes do sexto ano possuem sobre o conceito de probabilidade e avaliar o impacto do uso da ferramenta digital GeoGebra em seus sistemas de crenças. A pesquisa qualitativa foi desenvolvida dentro do paradigma da pesquisa baseada em design, utilizando um experimento de ensino como estratégia metodológica. Os participantes do estudo pertencem a uma instituição educacional pública localizada na cidade de Santiago de Cali, na Colômbia. Os resultados indicam que os estudantes possuem diversas crenças acerca da probabilidade, as quais variam conforme seu nível de raciocínio. Além disso, o uso das múltiplas representações oferecidas pelas simulações do GeoGebra possibilitou que os estudantes avançassem de crenças, por vezes equivocadas, sobre probabilidade para argumentações de natureza matemática. A compreensão da probabilidade é essencial para o desenvolvimento do pensamento matemático; no entanto, os estudantes frequentemente enfrentam dificuldades devido a concepções errôneas.
